When I was laying out beads for several bracelets at once, I must have been hungry, because the different beads all reminded me of food. I thought the blue beads on this bracelet looked like flattened blueberries, and so I was going to name it after blueberries. But when I put it together with the silver beads, I thought it looked much more like a fuzzy blue caterpillar.
The clasp is magnetic, making this bracelet SO easy to take on and off. But don’t worry, it’s the strongest magnetic clasp I could get, so it won’t pull apart easily if you hang it on something. I have not used magnetic clasps in jewelry before this latest batch, but I have to say, I’ve been very impressed by them and I don’t think I’m going to use anything else on bracelets from here on out. No more hassling to get bracelets on; no more asking someone else to fasten it for you; no more giving up bracelets when arthritis sets in. Just wrap this bracelet around your wrist and the strong attraction of the magnet will fasten itself.
This bracelet is made from blue glass beads and sterling silver 6mm round beads. The clasp and findings are also sterling silver. Strung on flexible stainless steel wire for strength. The bracelet is 8” in length, but due to the bulk of the glass beads, I would recommend this bracelet for people who normally wear a 7 ½” bracelet. If you would like to have the bracelet a bit longer, ask for that in the notes/comments at sale and I can add another pair of jumprings to lengthen it at no charge.
